The WWE Universe chose CM Punk, to face WWE Champion John Cena in tonight’s main event. Although Cena was gaining the upper hand against the masked leader of the Straight Edge Society, the match was cut short when last season’s NXT Rookies – led by season one winner Wade Barrett – charged the ring and laid waste to everything and everyone in sight.

An intensely disheveled Kane came before the WWE Universe to lament the fall of his brother The Undertaker. Claiming that The Phenom may very well be gone forever, The Big Red Monster vowed to execute “swift, decisive vengeance” on any and all parties responsible for the “heinous assault” on the ominous Superstar. He then unleashed on a quest of absolute terror, storming through the halls of SmackDown to find The Deadman’s unknown assailant.

The five eliminated NXT Rookies returned for the season finale of WWE NXT Tuesday night. Michael Tarver, Daniel Bryan, Skip Sheffield, Darren Young and Heath Slater looked on as WWE NXT host Matt Striker explained that the WWE Pros will cast their votes in two Pros’ Polls to determine which NXT Rookie will be the competition winner.

While they are almost similar pictures, it’s just different angles. CM Punk is superstar of the day and there is a new bio page. You don’t get a glimpse of Punk’s hair since the shave but Punk in his mask.

After Rey Mysterio shaved CM Punk’s head at Over the Limit, those in attendance and watching all over the world waited to see just how Punk would look. However, The Second City Saint didn’t give the WWE Universe what they wanted. Instead, he concealed himself behind a skin-tight black mask, emblazoned with S.E.S. lettering. Protruding from the mask was Punk’s still-intact beard.

Although his symbol of purity had been taken, Punk seemed to embrace his new appearance and used it to fuel his fight against Kane. As Serena distracted the referee, Luke Gallows punched The Big Red Monster in the head. With Kane still reeling, Punk capitalized and hit the Go to Sleep for the Fatal 4-Way qualifying win.

Bald loser. That sums up CM Punk after Rey Mysterio defeated him with a seated crucifix then shaved his head at Over the Limit.

After Mysterio dispatched Punk in their highly-competitive Straight Edge Society Pledge vs. Hair Match, Punk’s minions tried to protect their leader from getting what was coming to him when a hooded stranger attacked Mysterio from behind.

Next, when Luke Gallows and Serena stormed into the ring, it looked like Rey was going to suffer even more at the hands of the S.E.S. But after emerging from an ominous crimson glow, Kane rushed to the ring to help drive off the S.E.S.

After The Big Red Monster chokeslammed Punk – and there was no one left to save the savior – The Ultimate Underdog prepared to take away Punk’s symbol of purity.

After acquiring two pairs of handcuffs that Luke Gallows brought to the ring, Mysterio handcuffed both of Punk’s arms to the ropes and delivered his second hard-hitting 619 of the night. With Punk helpless, Rey delivered the long-awaited head shaving.

It was clearly a cathartic experience for Mysterio – after having to endure months of verbal and physical taunting from Punk and his S.E.S. cronies – and a painful one for Punk.

Mysterio’s victory – besides saving him from having to do the unthinkable and join Punk, Serena, Luke Gallows and who knows who else in the S.E.S. – finally gave him the upper hand he had been seeking since their last two pay-per-view encounters.

Two days before he will face Rey Mysterio at Over the Limit, CM Punk inducted three members of the WWE Universe into The Straight Edge Society. Following the pledge, the new inductees had their heads shaved to show their devotion in actions as well as words.

Mysterio then emerged, putting a quick end to the festivities when he revealed a doctored photo of The Straight Edge “savior” with his head shaved bald. The Straight Edge Society took out their frustration by attacking their new members and knocking them from the ring.

Later, Mysterio teamed with MVP to take on The Second City Saint and his “sin-free soldier” Luke Gallows. As The Master of the 619 attempted to dial up his favorite maneuver on Punk, the hooded stranger – who had attacked Mysterio on three separate occasions – once again emerged out of nowhere. This time, The Ultimate Underdog proved ready for the surprise. After attacking the anonymous assailant with absolute fury and ramming him into the steel ring post, Mysterio used his supreme athletic ability to counter Punk and pick up the quick pin.

Will Mysterio’s mock image of Punk’s bald head become reality this Sunday? Or will The Masked Superstar be forced to take the Straight Edge Pledge?

The latest Pros’ Poll results were revealed, and NXT Rookie Darren Young was the fourth competitor eliminated from WWE NXT. The South Beach Party Boy said he’d hoped elimination day would never come, and thanked the WWE Universe in attendance and at home for their support. He said the difference between he and the other NXT Rookies is that he has respect for the WWE Pros.

Despite CM Punk’s specific instructions that his Straight Edge followers not get involved in his match with Rey Mysterio, they disobeyed their savior. Luke Gallows, Serena and a mysterious hooded person all entered the fray. Ultimately, their involvement earned The Second City Saint a disqualification. But in the end, Mysterio suffered a brutal Gallows Pole capped off with a devastating Go to Sleep from Punk. When they meet again, it will be in a Hair vs. S.E.S. Pledge Match at Over the Limit.
