CM Punk & Daniel Bryan def. Luke Harper & Erick Rowan
Thanksgiving may be days away, but after not only surviving, but prevailing in, a dangerous brawl against The Wyatt Family at WWE’s fall classic, The Best and The Beard have plenty to be thankful for.
Despite competing at an immense size disadvantage and having to contend with the ringside presence of Bray Wyatt, the potent combination of CM Punk & Daniel Bryan dealt a huge loss to Luke Harper & Erick Rowan at the 27th annual Survivor Series.
At just under 17 minutes, Punk hit the GTS on Harper to score the winning pinfall. Though the victory was undoubtedly gratifying to The Second City Saint and WWE’s “Yes!” man, it was anything but easy.
For weeks, the wicked trio’s sneak attacks have decimated the popular Superstars, with The Eater of Worlds blaming their actions on “the devil” and urging Punk and Bryan to “run.” The Wyatt Family laid out Punk & Bryan as recently as two days ago on SmackDown, but on the Survivor Series Kickoff, The Best in the World made clear that he and Bryan were not afraid of their opposition but, rather, eager to scrap.
And what a scrap it was. To the sounds of the sold-out T.D. Garden chanting “Yes!” and “This is awesome!” the contrasting styles — Harper and Rowan’s ferocious fisticuffs, and Punk and Bryan’s technique — played out in an evenly fought contest. Sitting in his trademark rocking chair, Wyatt watched on as his lurching monsters mauled their smaller opponents in the early goings, despite Punk and Bryan’s best efforts to strike and move.
The Best and The Beard did land a series of double-team maneuvers, including a double dropkick and an homage to The Hart Foundation’s Hart Attack, but a savvy distraction by Rowan gave Harper time to regain composure and drop Punk with a massive boot to the face.
From there, the Wyatt Family members’ backwoods brawling style took over in impressive form.
Daniel Bryan def. Luke Harper
Two days before he and CM Punk take on The Wyatt Family’s Luke Harper & Erick Rowan at Survivor Series, The Beard went one-on-one against Harper in SmackDown’s main event – and by one-on-one, we mean that Bray Wyatt and Rowan were lurking in close proximity to the ring.
However, when The Eater of Worlds’ distraction allowed Harper to regain his advantage over Bryan in the final moments of the match, Punk emerged. His distraction proved to be even more effective, kicking up the dust enough for The Beard to pick up the quick pin on his opponent.
But, after the bell rang, The Wyatt Family would make both former World Champions pay for their actions, hitting Punk with a wicked clothesline and Bryan with Sister Abigail and leaving their Survivor Series opponents in a heap in the middle of the ring.
Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, The Usos & WWE Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Goldust def. The Shield & The Wyatt Family
Chaos erupted between The Shield, The Wyatt Family, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, The Usos & The Rhodes Brothers last week, and the 12 Superstars found a way to exorcise their frustration in Raw Country’s epic conclusion. Separated into teams of six, the dozen got down and dirty in a 12-Man Tag Team Match that saw the fan favorites fall to a late disadvantage until a surprise Superstar came to save the day. Dissent between The Shield and The Wyatts nearly threatened to destroy their efforts until Bray Wyatt himself mended the fences, uniting his teammates against Bryan for a plus-sized numbers game.
It took a last-ditch tag to Punk by Bryan to re-ignite his team and The Second City Saint shouldered the burden well, cleaning house and dispatching Dean Ambrose with a Go to Sleep after an epic melee ensued. The victory had only just been counted when The Real Americans joined in for a piece of the action and sent Punk, Bryan & Co. into defense mode … at which point Rey Mysterio stormed into the ring and struck Jack Swagger and Luke Harper with a double 619. The mask, as they say, is back.

CM Punk & Daniel Bryan vs. Ryback & Curtis Axel ended in a No Contest
Ready to battle Luke Harper & Erick Rowan at Survivor Series – a pay-per-view match announced on WWE.com earlier this week – CM Punk & Daniel Bryan teamed up for the first time ever on the blue brand to take on Ryback & Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel.
But just when Bryan snapped The Human Wrecking Ball into the “YES!” Lock, the lights suddenly went out and the horrifying tone of the Wyatts’s entrance theme echoed through Manchester. When the lights returned, The Wyatt Family appeared to spoil the party. While they were in the ring, however, Punk and Bryan were both gone!
Meanwhile, as Axel tried to revive Ryback, the disoriented Big Guy pushed his partner into the creepy faction, leading Harper and Rowan to attack the titleholder and The Human Wrecking Ball. But, after they exiled their prey from the ring, “The Beard with The Best” suddenly reappeared from hiding and scored a hit-and-run attack on their pay-per-view opponents.
Paul Heyman addressed the WWE Universe
Paul Heyman – or at least what’s left of him – is back. Flanked by the victorious Curtis Axel, the mad scientist made his return to Raw as a wheelchair-bound wretch, donning a neck brace, arm sling, back brace and leg cast. And he is not happy. Not only did Heyman more or less dismiss Ryback as a potential Paul Heyman Guy, but he blamed the WWE Universe itself for the beating CM Punk administered at Hell in a Cell. Heyman’s promise of vengeance against his prodigal son was quickly interrupted by the man himself, who quickly dispatched Axel and hacked Heyman to pieces with a Kendo stick he produced from beneath the ring.
Daniel Bryan & CM Punk def. The Shield via Disqualification
Who says old rivals don’t make good tag team partners? Bolstered by CM Punk’s humiliation of Paul Heyman, The Second City Saint & Daniel Bryan came out cocky and confident against The Shield in Kane’s first Raw main event as Director of Operations. The pair initially targeted Seth Rollins until he was forced to summon Roman Reigns, who initiated the “numbers game” attack that left Bryan at their mercy. The “Yes!” man saved the day with a last-gasp tag of Punk, yet before The Second City Saint could put the opposition to sleep the lights cut out and The Wyatt Family swarmed the ring.
Punk & Bryan caught a lucky break when tensions boiled over into a brawl between The Shield and The Wyatts. Their luck was short-lived when Bray marshaled the warring factions into targeting their “common enemy.” All seemed lost until The Usos & Rhodes brothers stormed the ring, saving Punk & Bryan from certain doom and ensuring they would survive to see another fight.
