At WWE Fatal 4-Way, World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger will attempt to defend his illustrious title against three former World Champions – CM Punk, Big Show and Undertaker – in an explosive Fatal 4-Way main event. And in a match where bedlam will rule, the four elite SmackDown Superstars will draw their advantage from four completely different sources.

At WWE’s innovative new pay-per-view, the odds will be stacked against Jack Swagger retaining his World Title before the bell even rings. According to the rules of a Fatal 4-Way Match, not only will all four Superstars be battling at the same time, but any one of them can pin any other Superstar to capture a championship victory.

Despite his rocky road since cashing in his WrestleMania Money in the Bank opportunity, the outspoken champion’s success at keeping his “greatest trophy” securely around his waist is unquestionable. His biggest advantage lays in his steadfast determination to hold on to the World Title at any cost. And against the awesome odds he will face at Fatal 4-Way, he will have to pull out every trick in the book.

After Swagger got himself disqualified in his Over the Limit World Championship Match with Big Show, The World’s Largest Athlete presents the textbook definition of an angry giant threat. His advantage in the Fatal 4-Way stems from his enormous size, which manifests itself in his most dangerous weapon, the knockout punch. The rage that drives the gigantic Superstar once the bell rings will make overcoming Big Show an extremely tall order.

CM Punk lost his hair at Over the Limit, and with it, the symbol of his Straight Edge “purity.” If he could once again become the Straight Edge World Heavyweight Champion, the freshly masked “savior” would provide himself with a new symbol to carry forth as the head of the S.E.S. Although his symbol of purity had been taken, Punk seemed to embrace his new appearance and used it to fuel his fight against Kane. As Serena distracted the referee, Luke Gallows punched The Big Red Monster in the head. With Kane still reeling, Punk capitalized and hit the Go to Sleep for the Fatal 4-Way qualifying win.

After Mysterio dispatched Punk in their highly-competitive Straight Edge Society Pledge vs. Hair Match, Punk’s minions tried to protect their leader from getting what was coming to him when a hooded stranger attacked Mysterio from behind.

Next, when Luke Gallows and Serena stormed into the ring, it looked like Rey was going to suffer even more at the hands of the S.E.S. But after emerging from an ominous crimson glow, Kane rushed to the ring to help drive off the S.E.S.

After The Big Red Monster chokeslammed Punk – and there was no one left to save the savior – The Ultimate Underdog prepared to take away Punk’s symbol of purity.

After acquiring two pairs of handcuffs that Luke Gallows brought to the ring, Mysterio handcuffed both of Punk’s arms to the ropes and delivered his second hard-hitting 619 of the night. With Punk helpless, Rey delivered the long-awaited head shaving.

It was clearly a cathartic experience for Mysterio – after having to endure months of verbal and physical taunting from Punk and his S.E.S. cronies – and a painful one for Punk.

Mysterio’s victory – besides saving him from having to do the unthinkable and join Punk, Serena, Luke Gallows and who knows who else in the S.E.S. – finally gave him the upper hand he had been seeking since their last two pay-per-view encounters.

Mysterio then emerged, putting a quick end to the festivities when he revealed a doctored photo of The Straight Edge “savior” with his head shaved bald. The Straight Edge Society took out their frustration by attacking their new members and knocking them from the ring.

Later, Mysterio teamed with MVP to take on The Second City Saint and his “sin-free soldier” Luke Gallows. As The Master of the 619 attempted to dial up his favorite maneuver on Punk, the hooded stranger – who had attacked Mysterio on three separate occasions – once again emerged out of nowhere. This time, The Ultimate Underdog proved ready for the surprise. After attacking the anonymous assailant with absolute fury and ramming him into the steel ring post, Mysterio used his supreme athletic ability to counter Punk and pick up the quick pin.

Seconds later, Rey Mysterio jumped out of the crowd and attacked CM Punk, mimicking the attacks he has suffered from a mysterious hooded stranger in recent matches with The Second City Saint. This commotion allowed MVP to finish off Gallows with The Play of the Day.

After the match, an irate Punk called Mysterio out as a “coward.” The masked Superstar emerged to challenge him to a rematch at Over the Limit and the “savior” readily accepted. If Rey loses the showdown, he must take the Straight Edge pledge. If Punk loses, Rey Mysterio will personally shave his head.
