You probably won’t find CM Punk telling this story in the ring any time soon.

The WWE Superstar known for speaking his mind and inserting parts of his real life into fake wrestling angles headlined the one year anniversary of “I S— You Not,” Thursday at the Lincoln Lodge in the North Center neighborhood. The monthly storytelling series features speakers sharing embarrassing bathroom-related stories. Punk (real name: Phil Brooks) told a story about an incident he had during the Chicago Marathon in 2011 involving a portable toilet.

This isn’t the first time a pro wrestler has participated in the show. Punk’s good friend and former tag team partner Colt Cabana (real name: Scott Colton) has also taken the stage, as has their friend Marty DeRosa, a local comedian and host of the “Wrestling with Depression” podcast.

“Normally we get 30 to 60 people attending the show — last night we sold out,” said the show’s co-host Monte LaMonte, who estimated that there were around 90 people. “We were lucky to have (Punk) and thrilled he was part of the show. He was a total professional and he delivered in spades.”

My colleague Alexia Elejalde-Ruiz happened to be on hand for the show and said not everyone in attendance knew who Punk was.

“Some people did,” she told me. “There were several others who didn’t. But he made frequent references to things that made you realize he was a wrestler and famous-ish.”

If you aren’t offended by potty humor and would like to hear Punk’s story, he told it to the “Holmberg’s Morning Sickness” radio show in Arizona last year. Click here for the audio.
