Legend Renzo Gracie and UFC Bantamweight contender Aljamain Sterling join Matt in studio for this incredible episode to reminisce, tell stories, and talk about life. Later, CM Punk calls in to discuss his upcoming fight against Mickey Gall, cutting weight, and his love for comic books. Plus, the guys break down UFC 203: Miocic vs. Overeem, and much more.
By the time CM Punk decided to walk away from professional wrestling “making the walk” didn’t quite do it for him anymore.
Just three days before he makes his first walk as an actual fighter, Punk is thrilled for the butterflies to return.
“I’m cool as a cucumber. I stated already that I’m sure I’ll have pre-fight butterflies, but I’m actually looking forward to feeling that again,” Punk said Wednesday during a media scrum following his UFC 203 open workout. “It was a long time that, before I’d go through a curtain, I would just sit there and be like, ‘They’re (the butterflies) not coming. They’re gone.’
“They were gone for a long time and I’m glad they’re back.”
On Episode 3 of UFC 203 Embedded, debuting welterweight CM Punk defies science in dry ice bath, and heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic gets suited up. Bantamweight Jessica Eye centers her training on her throwing arm. Punk’s opponent Mickey Gall arrives in The Land, where he discovers he has a fan in heavyweight title challenger Alistair Overeem. Veteran bantamweight Urijah Faber offers Punk some fight week advice as the former pro wrestler struggles with social media then hams it up at a photo shoot. Miocic then ventures to the East Coast for a day of media to promote his hometown title defense. UFC 203 Embedded is an all-access, behind-the-scenes video blog leading up to the world heavyweight championship at UFC 203, taking place Saturday, September 10 on Pay-Per-View.
