CM Punk turns hate figure for fans 

BAD GUY ... CM Punk

WWE CHAMPION CM Punk has — for large parts of his career — been a much-loved figure on television.

Now his character has taken a more villainous turn — and he is loving it.

He exclusively told SunSport: “There’s no other way to put it, I enjoy being the bad guy!”

Punk ‘betrayed’ his legions of fans by turning on The Rock’s 1000th episode and has lately become a figure fans love to jeer.

For Phil Brooks, the man behind the CM Punk persona, creatively working fans to react to a character is one of the best parts of his job.

He added: “Anytime I get to do stuff hands-on I’m more into it. To me I started to feel like I wasn’t where I should be at that stage, creatively. And I wanted to get there.
