Man, that is so true. Crowds raise their hands at the end of the match and not much inbetween. Those old ECW matches the fans were rocking and held captive by the intensity of the battle. We aint seeing much of that at present, exception being CM Punk. Perhaps thats the reason we love him, cause he’s still hard-working and focussed on the actual wrestling rather than all the fake hype.

On the money boy, you R on the money! Genuine thrills in wrestling are few and far between. And thats why a lot of the wrestling matches are hell lame and all over the shop lazy. No focus upon the wrestling stuff, too busy trying to remember their lines and look cool. This is why Punk stands out, he doesnt give too much attention to image but works hard on the match preperation, his fitness, the details etc. I love Vince, he is a realdeal superman, but he has big problems with his shows and its simply resolved by reeling in all the shit that revolves around the wrestling ring and getting back to creating interest with what happens inside that ring. Hi Punknut and Metaliacafan - guys anothr thing ive noticed is that the entrance of the wrestler has almost taken precedence over their ring performance and wrestling skills. Its cool to have a good entrance and all that shit, but its becoming all too commonplace that the match that follows is way forgettable. I totally agree that there is too much attention given to the out of ring stuff and not enough on match detail. And Im with you in saying its frustrating, sometimes I just wanna give it away. CM Punk is the sole reason for me watching and WWE can take that as money in the bank!

It most certainly seems that we are witnessing the death of a great sport at the hands of television executives and do-gooders who seemingly know very little about the sport they are working in. What is given is good passionate feedback and if someone actually put it into practise the fans would be electrified again as we used to be… Fans have a right to be excited and pissed off at what occurs in their fave sport. I think we have already discussed a week back or so about the right to speak our minds and the truth as we see and feel it. If we didnt there would be no fans, just robots sitting in seats at half empty arenas and empty or dull forum pages! There seems to be a tendency to control the audience, like numb them into brainlessness. I dont get that! If you look at soccer fans in Europe these people make their sport, they are so fucking wired, its their life, part of their identity! Thats why soccer is called the World Game, because their fans are so passionate and that euphoria has spread across the world and sets the world on fire every four years at the world cup. And to me thats damn cool! Wrestling fans look like we’v all been stuck in office cubicles for way too long. Bring back the excitment to wrestling WWE, you will get plenty of joy from us when you start delivering great matches. Test the theory! On a future Smackdown, have a 25/ 30 minute match with two of your best wrestlers, re-do Punk v Morrison, let those guys script for themselves and design the match and the setup, give them creative control over what happens inside the ring, (flip a coin for who wins!), have no outside interference, provide good commentary, keep advert breaks to a bare minimal during the main event and watch the crowd go off! Because they will! Its a simple formula, you cant fuck it up if you stick to it! To quote punknut, poor guy gets quoted a lot but hes right - let them boys off the leash! And let the cameras capture it!

Well dude id never call John Morrison ‘a little fag’ as you say, the guy gets my total respect, he’s using his past and what he knows to be an original and like CM Punk and Finlay and Shawn Michaels is a master of his craft and like those guys an absolute workhorse - just my opinion. I actually thought that was interesting though, we saw just a tad of the Morrison that was at ECW, who like Punk present-time would cross the ethical line to achieve a result at any means… I liked it - the worst fate for Morrison would to be like John Cena who’s so good no-one really likes him, Cena has been getting boo’d a lot lately… thats why (presumably) the feud with Orton is coming to an end, cause the perceived good-guy ie Cena is getting boo’d and the fucking heel is getting cheered and that aint good for the movie-stars image, nor for WWE’s investment in Cena as movieboy. I have a feeling Cena might be heading smackdown’s way afterall, after Undertaker who’s Punk gonna fight and no-body will hate Cena when he’s against CM Punk who is the ultimate heel and the most genuinely hated wrestler in the WWE… shame all those haters are blind fools… but that’s the conditioned masses for ya! And Vince gets to keep his investment in Cena in reasonably one piece, albeit a one-dimensional piece, but still one piece. I could be wrong, we will see after bragging rights and the conclusion of the Orton/Cena feud. I hope im wrong because it would seem to a lot of us that once again Punk would be cheaply used to make another fading superstar look better than he actually is…

Punknut i totally agree with you in what you said about morrison it’s just that if he wishes to send a message to the miz at punk’s expense i just don’t think i could stand for that. He should be angry about losing the match understandably. But it’s just not on that he shows qualities like that to someone i respect dearly, i respect what morrison can do in the ring but i’ve had a bad taste in mouth about that guy since the day i saw him.

No, I dont think he’s kind of ‘fruity’, but thats the image WWE wants for now I guess. Wet the dudes hair instead of having it blow-dried, keep him out of the tanning salons, a couple of piercings and get rid of the flared furry leg bottoms and he’d look meaner and no-one would even think that sort of stuff… its all image!

Having chatted with my buddy Julie over the issue of John Cena, Im gonna do a 180 and completely change my mind on the Bragging Rights thing… I still think Batista will become World Champ and he’s deserving, he’s been excellent the last few weeks and gr8 with the bacstage banter with Rey…Batista would be a popular Champion for a while. (Ep 23/Oct proved that!) Would love Punk to win but cant see that happening right now… Lord!, Punk being stuck with Undertaker must feel like being the school football superstar stuck with someone’s not-so-hot mother at the Prom! I couldnt even say that Punk had gained anything over the debacle of this non-happening dead-in-the-water feud which has seemingly and mysteriously removed all of Punk’s wrestling skills to the effect presumably of enabling Taker to look at all competent… watch this weeks Smackdown (23/Oct) for Punk’s ultimate lay down and die routine… Anyways, back to Cena - As Ive said before I wanted Cena to stay at RAW but now I want him to lose to Orton at BR and head over to our show to feud with CM Punk. My change of thought on this is what Julie said about Cena being younger, faster and bringing a lot of hype and better mic-skills/promo’s to really cook up something with Punk which we Punkfans just havent experienced since the CM Punk/ Jeff Hardy war of attrician which was just amazing to watch. Punk looks like he’s ready to explode on somebody and he and Cena together could be special… I hate seeing a gifted athlete held back for somebody elses reputation! So Randy, give it to Cena and send whats left of him over to us Punk fans at smackdown and watch what a truly gr8 heel can do with John Cena…

Morrison or Mysterio would be good alternatives but really Punk deserves something bigger in status and Cena is that in terms of hype, if not in wrestling skills… but Punk will make Cena a hell better wrestler by working with him.

Julie tells me Undertaker is booked to be wrestling til about the year 3000, so it might be better for Undertaker to be matched to a bigger wrestler like Batista or even Ziggler who looks ready for something more meaty and who may or may not learn something from the God-like undefeatable ageless superstar known as the Phenom! I think if Cena did come over as Lawler subtlely mentioned a few times on this week Smackdown, the successs of it will depend upon both Punk and Cena being genuinely into it, feeling the chemistry of the feud and the possibilities there. But if its just run of the mill stuff we could all just doze off which is what I do everytime Undertaker gets into the ring with CM Punk. To have that ability to drop the biggest baddest wrestlers in the WWE and not be allowed to use those skills because you might showup the older man is just backward reasoning. Its been hard to watch, I agree with you Punknut, lets just hope its almost over and we can look forward to perhaps a quality Cena/ Punk feud if they have decided on it.
