On his ongoing “crusade” to convert those in need to a straightedge lifestyle, The Second City Saint completely shocked the WWE Universe by reintroducing a reformed Luke Gallows, formerly Festus. He explained that he has gotten Gallows off the abusive drugs and away from the neglect that his family had enabled him with for so long.
After Punk proclaimed WWE Alumni Jeff Hardy’s soon to be released DVD “My Life My Rules,” a “dangerous, addictive new drug,” The Straightedge Superstar battled Jeff’s brother, Matt Hardy. But just when it looked as if Hardy would rise above the former World Champion, the vicious Gallows unleashed an unrelenting assault that left him motionless in the center of the ring.
Straight-edge people can have tattoos, because that doesn’t affect their bodies in a bad way like drugs, alcohol and cigarettes does.
What CM Punk said about that DVD was only because of their feud, it’s not like he’s gonna say he likes it. CM Punk is heel, that means that he does anything to upset the fans, anything to get “you suck” chants… it’s a part of being heel, he’s a bad guy.
About the whole “Festus” thing, I don’t like it that much, why? Well, because now he’s probably gonna use Festus as a bodyguard, which means more cheating in matches, more easy-way outs, it will make him look weak and that we don’t want!!!
But I don’t know, it may work…
Well you could argue that being a fan of anything is sort of indicating an obsession of some sort, being addicted to a certain wrestler. He didn’t say poison, he said new kinda drug, well tattoos are like a drug so is competition according to punk. His point about prescription drugs is that people do take them as if their candy and so i hear most of the cases of acute liver failure are attributed to people taking too much paracetemol. You dont need to take painkillers for everything, they are bad for you in big quantities. I get pain all the time, im disabled, i dont take painkillers all the time, i go have a lie down. It works wonders. I try to use painkillers sparingly and use them in the proper dosage.
A very weak episode of Smackdown this week. I respect that in some way the WWE is giving Punk some kind of forum to legitimately express the benefits of straightedge to kids, particularly after last weeks nightmare and humiliation, the Festus thing was cool if it was true LOL! I also liked that Punk was the one to promote Jeff Hardy’s DVD, presumably the same DVD that the WWE canned when Jeff was arrested months back. I said then that they should have still put the DVD out at the time, regardless of the WWE pretending they were moral warriors, cause we all know they are not at all, nevertheless Punk inversely promoting Jeff’s DVD hopefully went some way to easing the tensions that existed between him and the Hardy’s (if that reported stuff was ever really true to begin with?) The question now is, as they are putting out and promoting this dvd, WHY? What does the WWE know about Jeff and his plight that we perhaps dont? Perhaps the charges have been lessened and Jeff might make a non-wrestling appearance at some point, perhaps TLC? Strange timing, Jeff Hardy DVD release/TLC pay per view around the corner which is ofcourse Jeff’s great thing etc etc. There is no such thing as dead and buried when it comes to the WWE LOL! There are more reserections out of WWE than a B-grade slasher movie series! And if Jeff aint going to jail then there is no reason why he cant show his face once in a while at WWE, afterall his fans and the WWE dont care about the drug issues and CM Punk and Jeff Hardy have a unforgettable wrestling history together that should always be celebrated.
A dull show I thought, but I too thought it cool that Punk was the man to pump Jeff’s DVD. No-one hates Jeff,me included, Im glad wwe is giving him an income, he probably has some serious legal bills to pay. I hope it sells in bucketloads. Good work CM Punk. Wrestling-wise for this weeks Smackdown, there’s nothing to write about, besides im still high from the Punk/Cena match on RAW! And yes its a natural high!
CmPunk is such a good guy, saving Festus from himself. If only Punk had have imparted some of his wrestling skills onto Festus as well it might have been more interesting.
I want to see CM Punk come out with a reformed and humble Jeff Hardy telling the kids NOT to get caught up in drugs and alcohol but to use moderation if straightedge is too hardcore a choice! and have those two wrestling gods stand next to each other as moral allies and at peace with each other, like shake hands or something[in all seriousness!!!]. That would be cool. HAS THE WWE GOT THE BIG BALLS REQUIRED TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN? Now that would be an unbelievable episode of Smackdown and would go a long way to undoing the negatives and the dissapointment Jeff has brought to the WWE and the WWE Universe. Feel completely free to use my idea WWE, its a great idea and a sure-fire ratings winner!
that is a great idea Metalicafan, people would go crazy in anticipation of Jeff Hardy and CmPunk being back together and at peace with each other and promo-ing a positive message. I would love to see that. Punk would come off looking respected for his stance and Jeff would be totally forgiven and still not have to go completely straightedge to achieve that forgiveness! Awesome idea.
That is a good idea and an original one, get to it WWE, there’s a BIG episode right there, and the possibility of drawing a line in the sand between CM Punk and Jeff Hardy that would see a peaceful conclusion to the whole thing. But please dont destroy that goodwill by having Punk hit Jeff or Jeff whack Punk at the last, that would ruin the intent and cheapen the message. Top idea Metallicafan.

Lets not forget WWE loves to scandalize and lower everyones hopes and expectations with cheap shots, stupidity, over-advertising and just cant resist to ruin the overall flavour and integrity of much of what they do. If they played this stuff out as you guys have suggested it would be HUGE and would not need a decent into the ridiculous to make it better. But can they be sincere and give both Punks fans and Hardy’s fans and the WWE Universe a fair and positive closure to all thats happened? uk airing completely edited out most of Punk’s promo, some legal shit! Never even got to see what was in the bag! and if that wasn’t bad enought, what did they fill the time with?? Showing the fucking undertaker match TWICE!!! Really bad episode of SD I thought. As for Jeff Hardy, last I heard was that some of the charges had been dropped because police couldn’t prove the stuff posted to him was his, and apart from that package, only a small amount of drugs were posted. Think his next court date is this week some time.
From what I saw, the LUke Gallows thing turned out better than I imagined it would months back when everyone was speculating about Punk getting a bodyguard. oNly concern I have is that he interferes in all Punk’s matches and gets his dq’d, if that happens I think the level of wrestling Punk is allowed to do by WWE will drop… again!
Hey Julie, if you find out what that ‘legal shit’ is, let me know, Id love to know why they couldnt show Jeff’s new DVD (that was what was in the brown paper bag!) And if the charges have been dropped, plus the new DVD that would ‘almost’ certainly mean Jeff Hardy will be back! Hardy fans must be really anxious at this point to see what will happen. If he wants to wrestle again and WWE wont take him back, then Im sure a certain Hulk (non-green variety LOL) might be making a phone call or two in the Enigma’s direction. Imagine what that would do for TNA’s profile… Id rather see him back at Smackdown, preferably.
Punk’s wrestling time being cut back may be because he is a massive scene stealer, of wrestling ability and mic/promo stuff, he overshadows all the others that WWE tries sooooo hard to push, like Jericho and Undertaker. Why bother, they should in my opinion be spending their time and resources on the other wrestlers like Ziggler who is a definate Intercontinental Champion of the future. But its R-Truth and Matt Hardy who have the most potential but who draw the shortest straws for some reason. I said this before but if WWE was serious about sorting R-Truth out, (cause he’s a better wrestler than what he is credited for, Punk helped reveal that fact!), like fixing or giving him a new song or severely editing the current shit-bomb!, cause his credibility just vanishes when he does that tune before every match he’s in. The other, Matt Hardy, he needs a special diet and some radical cardio and weight-training, he’s got the most potential of the mid-card folks but for some reason cant get himself sorted out. Pic no 10 in the digitals explains everything! Id like to see him retire the purple duds, go black, would look cooler with the pirate coat he’s seems to love. Just wish he get his own thing happening, but for him its all about his appearance, cause he’s a good wrestler in his own right.
Hi punknut, I said some similar stuff recently about R-Truth too, but I agree 100% with what you said about Matt Hardy, so much under-developed potential ! He needs to lose a heap of weight for a start, Id like to see a six-pack and some bigger arms and a longer chin beard, Depp style, his face is too round for his present ‘look’, sorry Matt, wouldnt say it if we didnt think you could do it honey, its the ex-image consultant in me! If he did these things I could garantee that WWE would start giving him bigger matches and perhaps belts, but it really depends upon his image and yes punknut , you are right, his appearance. He should call Randy Orton4 a start, if there are no dieticians and extreme trainers working for the WWE, (coz Randy is a specimen physically, yum yum and he understands what image is all about. Can you imagine if Randy had a belly? He wouldnt have been half as successful as he has been. Punk, Randy, Ziggler, Mysterio, Batista, Jeff Hardy, etc these guys have their own look and they do it brilliantly.
You guys have got that right about Matt Hardy. Photo ten is very unflattering and he can do so much better if he applied himself! Acai berry, fat-burner supps (non-steroidal ofcourse) NO junk food (at all), small meals 5x a day!, weights, THEN cardio, treadmill etc, a more specific protein shake for muscle building – Cell-Tech Hardcore is excellent if the WWE approves it within their wellness policy! Always check Matt, just to be sure. But yeah, the guy has a lot of potential but why he cant improve I dont understand? If he can take all the hits and slams then its not a health issue, just a weight and muscle issue. YOU CAN DO IT! I would love to see Matt Hardy step out of the shadows of his brother Jeff. Its like he’s accepted second place!
HI punknut, how you doing? Don’t know what the legal stuff was, I was just informed the promo was edited cos it violated uk advertisement and broadcasting protocol, whatever the fuck that means!! I’ve seen it since on youtube and don’t get why it was edited out, but to be honest was more pissed off at having to watch Taker/Jericho twice!! As for Jeff Hardy, I understand that they are looking at dropping the traficking charges, but carrying on with the possession ones. It would be great to see Jeff Hardy back wrestling, but I’m not sure he’s fit in with the pg rating stuff after such a public incident.
Hey you lot should check out Matt Hardy on twitter, every pic he puts up there is his in a restaraunt with a plate of food in front of him LOL bless him, I think he’s great. I’d liked to have seen a Punk/Matt TLC match at the next PPV, seeing has matt and jeff came up with the concept of TLC, I love Matt’s pirate jacket, I have one the same but I don’t wear purple tights with it – honest!! It would clash with my bright red hair!
Speaking of the TLC ppv, I have heard no mention so far of Punk being involved at all, which is a bit strange seeing has he’s on the poster?? WWE get wierder by the day!
It is a little bit strange, but at the webpage of wwe you can’t find the tlc-poster with Punk. There is only the wallpaper with the Undertaker (and Edge).

im getting used to matt’s little belly, im not too bothered to be honest. Maybe as you get older its harder to lose weight healthily. Ye i watched smackdown and they repeated the undertaker match, it was all fucked up coz it made it look like john morrison and eric escobar or estrada or whatever his name is was basically the last match. I was in a total time warp. I couldnt believe they edited out punks promo. When he said there’s a new over the counter drug, i was like…oooh their not making morphine over the counter…and then i remembered jeff hardy.

by the way, just heard Jeff Hardy’s court date has been put back again until end of January 2010, don’t know why. If he did these things I could garantee that WWE would start giving him bigger matches and perhaps belts, but it really depends upon his image and yes punknut , you are right, his appearance. and he understands what image is all about. Can you imagine if Randy had a belly? He wouldnt have been half as successful as he has been. Punk, Randy, Ziggler, Mysterio, Batista, Jeff Hardy, etc these guys have their own look and they do it brilliantly.
You guys have got that right about Matt Hardy. Photo ten is very unflattering and he can do so much better if he applied himself! Acai berry, fat-burner supps (non-steroidal ofcourse) NO junk food (at all), small meals 5x a day!, weights, THEN cardio, treadmill etc, a more specific protein shake for muscle building – Cell-Tech Hardcore is excellent if the WWE approves it within their wellness policy! Always check Matt, just to be sure. But yeah, the guy has a lot of potential but why he cant improve I dont understand? If he can take all the hits and slams then its not a health issue, just a weight and muscle issue. YOU CAN DO IT! I would love to see Matt Hardy step out of the shadows of his brother Jeff. HI punknut, how you doing? Don’t know what the legal stuff was, I was just informed the promo was edited cos it violated uk advertisement and broadcasting protocol, whatever the fuck that means!! I’ve seen it since on youtube and don’t get why it was edited out, but to be honest was more pissed off at having to watch Taker/Jericho twice!! As for Jeff Hardy, I understand that they are looking at dropping the traficking charges, but carrying on with the possession ones. It would be great to see Jeff Hardy back wrestling, but I’m not sure he’s fit in with the pg rating stuff after such a public incident.

I’d liked to have seen a Punk/Matt TLC match at the next PPV, seeing has matt and jeff came up with the concept of TLC, I love Matt’s pirate jacket, I have one the same but I don’t wear purple tights with it – honest!! It would clash with my bright red hair!

It is a little bit strange, but at the webpage of wwe you can’t find the tlc-poster with Punk. There is only the wallpaper with the Undertaker (and Edge).

Ye i watched smackdown and they repeated the undertaker match, it was all fucked up coz it made it look like john morrison and eric escobar or estrada or whatever his name is was basically the last match. I was in a total time warp. I couldnt believe they edited out punks promo. When he said there’s a new over the counter drug, i was like…oooh their not making morphine over the counter…and then i remembered jeff hardy.

LOL! I dont think the WWE has a clue what’s going on at any given time, regarding any given subject, wrestling or otherwise. Maybe someone in promotions said “we want a picture of the Undertaker plummeting downwards at an excelerated rate of gravity from a ladder he should never have climbed in the first place!” but no-one at WWE knew who the Undertaker was or what he looked like so they just stuck onto the poster any long haired, tattooed lout they could find a picture of! LOL! Sometimes it just kinda feels like that dont it!? LOL!

by the way, just heard Jeff Hardy’s court date has been put back again until end of January 2010, don’t know why.
